A Shiatsu treatment consists of pressure being applied to specific points on the body using the thumb, fingers and palm. Shiatsu translates to "finger pressure".
A full treatment lasts between 1 1/4 hours and 1 3/4 hours.
Treatments are given through clothing and it is advised that patients wear loose comfortable clothes (cotton is preferable).
A Shiatsu massage works by stimulating the body's energy and its own healing power. It releases tension and can relieve stress. It promotes relaxation, balance and muscle suppleness.
Shiatsu is beneficial for many problems such as:
• Fatigue
• Back Pain
• Tight Muscles/Motion Restrictions
• Sciatica
• Headaches
• Body Aches
• Neck and Shoulder Tension
