Welcome To Our New Students

Well it has been a busy start to the year as usual. This year Tai Shi Kai has started a class for younger students and this has proved to be quite popular with many now regularly attending the training sessions being run by Sempai Ben. Our regular class has also had several new members join up and start their journey along the "path" of martial arts. We welcome all our new students and wish them well with their training. We also welcome Matthew Roberts who is back training with us after a long (ten year) break.

Around the Christmas break several Tai Shi Kai students were fortunate enough to go overseas. Matthew Holm travelled to Germany on an exchange with his school and also visited Italy. The trip improved his German and hopefully will put him in good standing for his VCE which he starts this year.

Sempai Robert & Sempai Genevieve travelled to Holland, Belgium, Germany, England, France, Switzerland, Italy, Vatican City and Singapore. It was a whirlwind tour but it gave them a chance to experience each country and catch up with a lot of relatives. There were many highlights for them, one of which was the four days they spent skiing in the French/Swiss Alps in perfect conditions.

Our training has begun in earnest this year and it is going to be a big year even by Tai Shi Kai standards, with several black belt gradings to be held. There are 3 people attempting their Shodan grades in October and Sempai Linda will be attempting her Sandan grade mid-year. Also Sensei Linc will be attempting his 6th Dan in May. The "News" section of this website will keep you up to date on their progress throughout the year, so keep checking back.
